Our Preparedness Plan for COVID-19

The Village at Duxbury is committed to doing all it reasonably can to prevent the spread of COVID-19 illness at our community. We have a sacred obligation to protect our residents and the staff who serve them. We believe honesty and transparency are critical to keeping the hard-earned trust of our residents, their family members, staff, and the greater Duxbury Community. To that end, we update this table below on a semi-weekly basis (Mondays and Thursdays) to show cumulative and current positive cases of the illness on the Village campus.

The Village at Duxbury is taking steps based on guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to reduce the spread and impact of COVID-19, such as:

  • Enhanced infection control precautions
  • Screening residents, staff, and essential visitors for expanded list of symptoms
  • Limitations on visitation and entry of people to the building
  • Testing staff and residents who are symptomatic for COVID-19
  • Asymptomatic surveillance testing of staff members in accordance with DPH recommendations
  • Limitations on communal activities
  • Additional cleaning and documentation of cleaning
  • Ongoing communication with Duxbury Fire Department and Health Department

Due to government privacy requirements and Village policy, we do not divulge specific information about the individuals who have confirmed or suspected COVID-19 to the general public.

The Village at Duxbury management is grateful for the support the residents, families, staff, and town leaders and citizens have given to our community at this difficult time. Thank you.
